Chalk's Platform Fee
Chalk charges teams a 5% platform fee on transactions processed through the platform. This fee is always paid by the team, coach, tournament director, or organization receiving the payment — it is deducted from their payout. It is never added to what a parent or payer is charged.

Card Processing Fee
Card payments incur a Stripe card-processing fee (2.9% + $0.30). The team can choose to either absorb this (the payer pays exactly the stated amount) or pass it through, in which case it appears as a separate “Card processing fee” line at checkout.
The only fee a payer can ever see is this card-processing pass-through. Chalk's platform fee is never part of a payer's total, and it is always disclosed before payment is completed.

In both cases, Chalk's 5% platform fee comes out of the team's payout — not the payer's total.
Legal Note
Any fee a payer sees at checkout is a card processing feereflecting Stripe's actual per-transaction cost (2.9% + $0.30). Chalk's platform fee is paid by the team receiving the payment and is never charged to the payer.
