What we will not import

Some things from SportsEngine should not come with you. Chalk strips these from every CSV row.

  • Parent phone numbers
  • Home / postal addresses
  • Medical / allergy fields
  • Emergency contacts
  • Player-side birthdays unless explicit
  • Anything that exposes parents to other parents

This is a product constitution constraint, not a setting. You can't override it; we won't add a toggle. Parent contact data stays coach-only.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export my roster and schedule from SportsEngine?

Sign in to your SportsEngine dashboard, open the team, and use the Roster and Schedule export options to download CSV files. Chalk auto-detects the SportsEngine column format.

Does Chalk import my season history?

Chalk imports your current roster, upcoming schedule, and outstanding dues. Game stats and attendance history do not transfer — Chalk uses RSVP as the source of truth and most coaches start fresh on stats. Your CSVs stay your archive.

What about parent phone numbers and addresses?

Chalk strips phone numbers, addresses, medical fields, and emergency contacts from every CSV row. This is a constitutional rule: no parent contact data is ever exposed to other parents. Coaches reach parents through in-app chat.

Are parents charged anything?

No. Parents use Chalk free, forever. Written into our terms. Field mode and a few premium tools are $9/mo for coaches who want them.

What if SportsEngine still works for me?
